Samsung recalled Jitterbug cellphones model no. SPH-a110 & SPH-a120

Famous South Korean Electronics Company, Samsung Electronics, is recalling 1,60,000 Jitterbug cell phones as they fail to connect to emergency 911 when the cell phones are in a “no-service area.” The Jitterbug cellphones with model numbers SPH-a110 and SPH-a120 have been recalled. Upon dialing 911 in a “no-service area” the phones display “out of range, try again later” message. The Jitterbug phones come with standard key pads and “version BB14 software.” The recall is being conducted in cooperation with the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC).consumeraffairs.com:

The phones, made in Korea, were sold directly to consumers through targeted national advertisements and publications, electronics and drug stores nationwide, and on the Web at www.jitterbug.com from March 2008 through May 2009 for about $150.
