Dell Mini 10 netbooks are coming with Dell Wireless 700 location solution

Currently, GPS and navigation system is available in smart phones. Now, netbooks will feature navigation system. From next week, Dell is going to offer Dell Wireless 700 location solution, a “location service-enabled application” for Dell Mini 10 netbooks. The news appeared on Direct2Dell, one of the blogs of Dell. The new Dell Wireless 700 location solution is a combination of Broadcom’s A-GPS technology and Skyhook Wireless’ Wi-Fi position applications. Information Week reports:

"We're betting that location services will be a hit in netbooks," said Dell blogger Lionel Menchaca. "The Mini 10 is the first system that we'll offer with the optional Dell 700 Wireless location solution. Stay tuned for more details about more supported systems."

Dell Wireless 700 location Solution will run on Windows XP and Windows Vista. In near future, it will also support Windows 7. The location application of Skyhook is used in Apple iPhone and iPod Touch. This location solution uses GPS for outdoor co-ordinates and Wi-Fi for pinpointing the accurate location everywhere.
